I did, indeed write a book and it comes in both paperback and Kindle versions!
Birth Flow
Simple movements and gentle touch to relieve pain and speed labor for a graceful and confident experience.
Flow is the state of mind where your whole being is immersed in your activity such that your sense of time and place fall away. You are intensely focused in all the right ways, so you accomplish your task and feel good about the work you did. Being present is both the result of achieving flow and it is how you achieve flow.
Laboring and giving birth to a baby is an act of being present, when nothing else matters in your life and you are profoundly focused on the task at hand. Achieving a state of flow during labor means that your pain and discomfort are reduced, and labor goes faster.
You can achieve this flow through movement. Specifically, through rhythmic movement. In labor, pain is the body’s signal to move. By moving, we not only reduce pain, but we better position baby such that labor is expedited. Movement is so important that it is Lamaze Healthy Birth Practice #2, “walk, move around and change positions.”
This book provides a buffet of choices for labor postures, movements, massage and other comfort techniques for all people giving birth.
For every example, there is a photo, description, benefits, contraindications, variations, icons to indicate the appropriate stage of labor for usage as well as icons for “home”, “hospital / birth center”, “tub”, “shower” and “epidural friendly”.
There is also a Birth Plan Template included to help you sort out the details of your birth that are most important to you. As well as some words of wisdom and inspiration for you to guide you on your path to a confident birth.
